Come celebrate all things Americana New Orleans style this 4th of July at The Moldy Fig. We'll have Po' Boys - famous New Orleans burgers, special red white and blue cocktails, giveaways and live music with James Lockwood and special guests.

James Lockwood is a Melbourne/Naarm-based composer, arranger, and bassist. James studied at the Victorian College of the Arts and currently works as a freelance orchestral and session musician, as well as leading his own groups and special projects. Reflecting a deep love for the musical traditions of Jazz, Blues, and Soul, James composes and performs a wide array of music, inspired by musicians such as Charles Mingus, George Benson and Herbie Hancock.

As part of a special performance to celebrate 4th of July, James has arranged a selection of timeless Jazz and Soul tunes in the style of classic organ bands led by Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, King Curtis, Grant Green and Shirley Scott. Joining him on percussion and electric piano are long-time collaborators Paul Whitwood and Luke Dohan, in addition to special guests Alice Bisschops and Kyle Muir.

This 4th of July promises to be a high energy celebration of American music, food and drinks, so get down for good times and lets toast the further easing of restrictions in Victoria!

The kitchen will be cooking up a storm from midday and the band will be starting the party from 1pm. Bookings essential.
