ACAFEST brings together The Velvetones, Thylasing, Deep South Chorus, and leading local quartets, including Close Shave's return performance.

Be thrilled by these ensembles singing in close harmony.

The sassy, sexy Velvetones, inspired by the likes of Manhattan Transfer, the Andrews Sisters, and the Chordettes, is an award-winning women’s quartet visiting from Melbourne.

The Velvetones will hypnotise and delight you, performing everything from heart-stirring jazz ballads to cheeky early Broadway hits.

They were a highlight of the 2019 Festival of Voices and held sell-out performances at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

As well, Thylasing, brilliant young local performers, will take your breath away with their soaring vocals.

Deep South Chorus, Tasmania’s premier close harmony men’s chorus - three times Australia’s best small barbershop chorus - will also perform. Their repertoire includes lively up tunes through to emotional ballads.

ACAFEST also features local quartets, including Forefathers, two times national barbershop bronze medallists.

The return to the stage of Tim Begbie’s quartet Close Shave will be a delight.

Other quartets include Cocktail Hour, Jacapari, and Simon Says.

The show also includes a local youth ensemble performance following a day-long workshop led by The Velvetones. A highlight of the evening!
