On Wednesday 14 July, the Alliance Française de Sydney – in partnership with numerous organisations in the Franco-Australian community – is hosting a special edition of Bastille Day, which will transport revellers to France, West Africa, Tahiti, New Caledonia and beyond.

Taking place at the heritage-listed premises of the Argyle from 5pm onwards, this event represents an opportunity for Sydneysiders to come together and celebrate French and Francophone culture in all their richness and diversity. This year’s theme – France Around the World – is looking beyond the borders of France to the beauty and vibrancy of many fellow French-speaking neighbours and international destinations.

The entertainment for this memorable evening includes the Afrobeat dance music of a live 5-piece band, led by legendary Malian guitarist Moussa Diakite; an entertaining set of classic French hits from Parisian-born DJ Madame Rêve; and thrilling performances by French Polynesian and Cancan dancers.

In addition, the event will welcome French food stalls for guests to enjoy delicious crêpes; a tropical cocktail designed exclusively for the evening; and the opportunity to win fantastic prizes such as a luxurious French-Pacific holiday for two (including flights to Tahiti and four nights’ accommodation at the St Regis Bora Bora), two return flights to New Caledonia, a pamper package from Avène and Klorane, an indulgent stay at Sofitel Wentworth and much more.
