Black Rock House is open to the public on the first Sunday of the month from 1-4 pm. COVID requirements allow a group of five per tour guide to tour through this intriguing and unique historic beach residence. Please contact us in advance if you have questions about this.

Sunday tours are by donations to the Friends of Black Rock House.

Black Rock House was built in 1856 by Victoria's first Auditor-General, Charles Hotson Ebden as his seaside retreat. Complete with a castle wall and Moreton Bay Figs, this historic home in the Melbourne Bayside suburb of Black Rock has a fascinating past.

Throughout its rich history, Black Rock House has been utilised as a meeting place for Melbourne's elite, as a retreat for Governor Sir Henry Barkly and also as a private house.

Please check our Facebook page and website to check when other special events will recommence including mid-week group tours, Winter Ghost Tours and Paranormal Tours.
