Blues Roulette Doubles Down with Jimi Hocking & Frank Sultana

Lockdowns and venue restrictions didn’t stop Blues Roulette from delivering their brand of spontaneous performances by Australia’s finest Blues artists.
Through 2020, the Melbourne based rhythm section released live EP’s with Frank Sultana and Jimi Hocking that ranked highly on the Australian Blues and Roots Playlist Chart. With 2020 behind us, both Sultana and Hocking will be joining Blues Roulette for an interstate tour to celebrate both releases.

Jimi Hocking, aka ‘Jimi the human’ has a strong musical pedigree. Adept on Electric and acoustic guitar also mandolin, Jimi has forged a unique musical path since the early 1980’s. He has been a member of The Screaming Jets since 1993 and even did a stint with the Angels, and for many years has performed in his electric blues trio - Jimi Hocking's Blues Machine, picking up a swag of awards along the way, including 2005’s International Blues Challenge award in Memphis USA.

Frank Sultana has been writing, recording and performing his original brand of blues since his 2011 debut album, ‘Blues from the Lost Motel’. Since then, he has steadily worked his way onto the east coast blues scene, treading a well-worn path between Melbourne and Brisbane.

Inspired by the greats like Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, and Mississippi greats Skip James and Son House to name but a few. Franks songs are in one breath sad, dark, joyous and hopeful, awash with vintage guitar tones, he has a truly unique and raw soulful voice that bleeds with the experiences of the characters he sings about.

The tour promises to give even the most devoted fans of both artists a unique, one night only performance.
Since returning to live shows, every Blues Roulette show has sold out so be sure to grab your tickets quickly.
