Facing the Wild is an interactive portrait making workshop that invites children to connect with nature and explore their creative side. Acclaimed local First Nations artist Jandamarra Cadd (Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Warung) has teamed up with one of Australia’s leading outdoor education providers, Wildlings Forest School, to deliver this exploration based children’s art workshop.

In a beautiful rainforest setting, children (and adult guardians) will forage for natural materials, tools and pigments, and will be guided to create a self-portrait from these materials.

Children will learn how to assemble a wooden frame and hang their portrait in the Forest Portrait Gallery.
