For the first time ever, G’Day USA and the American Australian Association (AAA) join forces for the 2021 G’Day USA AAA Arts Gala - an annual celebration that recognizes the diverse contributions made by Australians in the cultural and creative sectors to the long-standing friendship between Australia and the United States.
This year’s honorees are Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett, who will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award; writer of New York Times best-seller Big Little Lies Liane Moriarty, for Excellence in Literature; and award-winning actor Aaron Pedersen, for Excellence in Television.
The stellar line up of presenters include: George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Bruna Papandrea, Jack Thompson, Tasma Walton, Uzo Aduba and Sarah Paulson.
Musical performances by Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Colin Hay, Dami Im, Chris Sebastian, Johnny Manuel, and William Barton, and special appearances by Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness, Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Elle Macpherson, Paul Hogan, Danielle McDonald and Olivia Newton-John will round out the star-studded show.
Australian singer and television personality David Campbell will host the virtual event, with Angela Bishop hosting the virtual red-carpet.
Funds raised from the event will support the American Australian Association and its Arts Fund which provides scholarships & grants to emerging American, Native American, Australian and Indigenous Australian artists for study and artistic development in each other's countries. The Arts Fund supports artists to advance in the fields of theater, film, television, dance, music, visual arts, design, literature, photography, and fashion.
The virtual event is free and open to all to join on Thursday, February 25th at 4pm PST/7pm EST/Friday, February 26th at 11am AEDT. Registration is required to view the event and guests can register at http://bit.ly/artsgala2021
