An intimate writing and animation workshop for anyone who grieves on Mother's Day.

About this Event
The lead-up to Mother's Day can be a sad and lonely time for those of us who grieve the loss of a mother/mother figure, a child, or motherhood itself, so let's make it a little less lonely by honouring our loss and/or loved one together.

The Grief Cocoon is hosting an intimate, creative workshop where you can explore writing and animation to process your grief or pay tribute to your loved one. You'll be guided through writing poetry by The Grief Cocoon founder and writer Gabriela Georges, and taken through a step-by-step process to create a simple animation by animator and filmmaker Christie Widiarto. There will also be time to connect with others and share what we've created if you wish to do so.

No writing or animation experience necessary. Materials and food provided.

This is for you if on Mother's Day:
- You grieve the loss of your mother or mother figure
- You grieve the loss of a child
- You grieve for another reason unmentioned
- You'd like to make space and time to acknowledge your grief and meet others who are also grieving at this time
- You're interested in exploring creative means of processing your grief and/or making something to honour the person/people you've lost

It will be a welcoming space, so there's no need to worry if you're coming alone. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and some chocolate too.

Only 15 places are available, so it's best to book early to ensure you don't miss out.

Book via Eventbrite or by emailing thegriefcocoon@gmail.com.

If you have any access requirements or questions, please email thegriefcocoon@gmail.com or contact Gabriela on 0412 083 202.
