Fiona Foley has created some of the most culturally significant artwork in Australia and has been collected by national and international institutions. Her work explores deep questions about Indigenous and non-Indigenous relations with reference to leading historians. Fiona is from the Wondunna clan of the Badtjala nation and grew up in Hervey Bay speaking Badtjala in the family home with my extended family. Our traditional boundaries include the geographical landmarks of Fraser Island (K’gari), Double Island Point, Tin Can Bay, Bauple Mountain and north to a point at the mouth of Burrum Heads.

Held in conjunction with the exhibition 'Songlines: Lines of Connecting, Dreaming and Remembering.' Curated by Melissa Stannard. Supported by Creative Arts Alliance.

Part of 'Connecting Stories', a first of its kind cross-regional project showcasing First Nations art and culture through exhibitions, public art trails, tours, workshops, artist talks and events across six local governments within the SEQ North region. 'Connecting Stories' has been developed through a partnership between Creative Arts Alliance as part of the Regional Arts Services Network, Blaklash Creative and members of the SEQN Galleries Network - Gympie Regional Art Gallery, Noosa Regional Gallery, Caloundra Regional Gallery, USC Art Gallery, Moreton Bay Regional Galleries, The Condensery: Somerset Regional Art Gallery and Redland Art Gallery.
