Join Curator Juliette Hanson for more insight into Thai-born, Melbourne-based artist, curator and arts activist Vipoo Srivilasa’s inter-disciplinary practice.

Wellness Deity features works from the Wellness Deity project - a self-directed project Srivilasa undertook in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The artist invited people to submit a drawing of their ‘Wellness Deity’, a god-like being that has a special or protective power. Srivilasa selected 19 drawings to provide inspiration for a series of ceramic sculptures that each have their own unique characteristics based on the personal stories submitted and are accompanied by a piece of commissioned creative writing.

Srivilasa's Wellness Deity features additional sculptures that celebrate the colour blue, which has been an ongoing feature in Srivilasa's practice, and extend his formal exploration of the deity.

There will be opportunities for you to ask questions and get involved.
