Retro Music Box Presents: Mess Around! with the Milford St. Shakers

The Swingin' R&b Sounds of The 1960s Performed Live By Dynamic 11-piece Band the Milford Street Shakers.

The powerful sounds of The Milford St. Shakers have become a firm favourite with Australian audiences of all ages who love to get up and dance to the Motown and Soul music of the 1960s.

Tonight the Milford St. Shakers pay homage to the undisputed “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin. One of the greatest singers of all time!

The 18-time Grammy winner started singing gospel as a child, then transcended music genres which includes R&B, jazz, pop, blues and disco during her six decades as a recording artist.

"A commanding and musically inspiring show." - The West Australian.

In addition to the band’s high energy R&B hits from the 1960s, their unique take on classics like ‘Respect’, ‘Chain of Fools’ and ‘Rock Steady’ will have you dancing the night away to their groovy beats.

Frontwoman Mia Matthiessen and her upbeat, high energy 11-piece band will feature; James Vinciullo on bass, Dominic D'Leno on drums, Imogen Thomson on percussion Andy Jarvis on guitar, Austin Salisbury on keyboards, Robert Bresland on trumpet, Mark Sprogowski on tenor sax, Jemima Mills on baritone sax and backing vocalists Taonga Thomson-Lawrence and Roera Mako.

Mess Around! is expected to be a sell-out as usual and fans are urged get their tickets online early to avoid any disappointment.

"An evening with the Milford St Shakers involves much more than enjoying the music of one of the state's tightest and most accomplished soul and R&B bands – it's a whole lot of fun." - Peter Hancock - Weekend Notes
