Parrtjima – a Festival in Light returns to illuminate Alice Springs from 9-18 April 2021.
The only Aboriginal light festival of its kind in the world, Parrtjima proudly brings to life the stories of Australia’s oldest living culture through a collection of mesmerising new light installations at Alice Springs Desert Park each year.
The festival’s 2021 theme is Future Kultcha, which focuses on intergenerational wisdom told through light, interactive workshops, art, music, films, performance and the spoken word, all set against the 300-million-year-old canvas of the MacDonnell Ranges.
This year’s program includes a raft of new offerings, such as the incredible new and exclusive under-the-stars dining experience, Merne, delivered by renowned bushfood guru Rayleen Brown.
Access to see the light installations at Alice Springs Desert Park is free.
