Perth Scottish Fiddlers are presenting their annual Music and Mayhem evening, celebrating the lively fiddle and dance music of Scotland. Your toes will be tapping to the jigs, reels and strathspeys of the wonderful music of Scotland!

They present a concert for the first half of the evening, followed by supper and ceilidh dancing. Bring your friends and your dancing shoes for an evening of fun and enjoyment. No experience needed – just enthusiasm! The group consists of around 20 musicians playing fiddles, cello, bass, guitar, mandolins and keyboard.

Perth Scottish Fiddlers is a group of musicians who come together to play the rich and extensive violin and dance repertoire of Scotland, both traditional and contemporary. They play a range of music, from beautiful airs and elegant strathspeys to fast and furious reels and jigs. The group’s original tunes and arrangements add an Australian flavour. The group is directed by Woodlands musician and music teacher Margaret Schlink.

Since forming in 2009 Perth Scottish Fiddlers have played at a variety of venues, including Fairbridge Festival, The Irish Club of WA, Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, Armadale Highland Gathering, the Little Folk Festival in Dwellingup and the National Folk Festival. They have also supported performances by a number of Australia’s best Scottish musicians, Chris Duncan and Catherine Strutt, Catherine Fraser and Duncan Smith, Colin Macleod, Robert Zielinski and international duo Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas. They also perform regularly at the Holly Wood Tuesday Morning Show at the Perth Town Hall.
