It’s the long weekend, baby!

All our Monday responsibilities have disappeared which means it’s time to let loose. And we can’t think of anywhere better than being by the water at Opera Bar to do it. So, we’ve called in the big guns for this one. After last week’s epic Picnic party at the Roundhouse we couldn’t resist inviting her back for round two. Please give a standing ovation for…

CC:DISCO!
+
Caravan b2b Body Corp
Honey Point (Deepa + DAME)
Daniel Lupica

With her First Light Vol 2 fresh off the vinyl press, CC:DISCO! has been touring around the country, leaving that CC magic everywhere she goes. The magic comes from creating moments on the dancefloor with her deep selections. Tracks that bring you nothing but pure joy, whether it’s boogie, soul, house, disco or Italo. You never know what you’re gonna get at a CC set but you know it’s going to be good! We can’t wait to hear what she has in her record bag for us this Long Weekend.

Two of the artists featured on the First Light Vol 2 were Paul Jextra, aka Caravan, and Body Corp, aka Marco Vella, so we have invited them out to the party. Caravan brings the heat with him everywhere he goes, from a fruit cocktail of European flavours to spicy tropical hits to straight-up house delights. Body Corp aka Marco Vella of Retiree fame is known for his hazy, analogue-centric and cosmic side of his electronic music explorations.

They’ll be joined by Honey Point, who made a huge splash on Boiler Room a few weeks ago, and are known for the jazzy, groovy selections perfect for the Opera Bar! And our favourite gold miner Daniel Lupica! Oooft.

This Picnic Social program is made possible through the City of Sydney’s CBD Activation grant, Balter Brewing Company. Belvedere Vodka and our venue partners Solotel & Opera Bar.

Art for Picnic Social comes from the incomparable Sydney via Venezuelan artist Nadia Hernández. Her visual arts practice is informed specifically by the current political climate of her home country and her diasporic experience as a Venezuelan woman living abroad.
