Songwriters @ The Rocks is an original songwriting competition that uses The Rocks Landscape as its stage. As part of Sydney Solstice, Sydney’s new winter event celebrating food and drink, art, entertainment and culture the concept is aimed to nurture, promote and provide upcoming singer-songwriters a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and to gain industry and public exposure. For the winning singer-songwriters, the program will offer a range of music-related prizes. This is a free event for artists over 16, see Competition Entry link below for all details.

The event will run as a free event from 18 May - 20 June 2021, featuring over 40 showcase performances across six key locations in The Rocks and culminating into a live outdoor concert final at First Fleet Park where the singer-songwriters will perform alongside established Australian musical talent including Phil Jamieson, Boo Seeka (acoustic) and Tia Gostelow.

Songwriters at The Rocks will feature:
- Online Songwriters competition: Running for a two week period, from May 25 – June 4, 2021

- Judging: Featuring a range of industry professionals including: Milly Petriella, Katie Rynne, Melody Forghani and Mardi Caught

- Songwriters @The Rocks showcases: Forty small-scale events across two nights, showcasing Contestants within a variety of settings across the Rocks, taking place over two consecutive nights: Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June, 2021. Industry judges will move between locations to review and judge the performances.

- Songwriters @ The Rocks Finale: A one-day event on Sunday 20 June, 2021 (running from 1-4pm) at First Fleet Park. A music stage will feature the top five finalists (as determined through the showcase performances) performing three songs each. They will be judged by a team of five industry professionals and share the stage with some of Australia’s most successful musicians.
