Inspired by a real crime, The Book of Chance is a powerful mystery novel that follows Chance Callahan’s quest to discover the truth about her family, only to discover that her life is in fact a big fat lie – #biggestfakeever! In this interactive and thought-provoking festival session, Sue Whiting will put the spotlight on what is true and what is not, explore the slippery nature of the written word and conduct some potentially hilarious lie detection activities that will challenge participants’ perceptions, as she asks the question: How truthful are you? She will also lead participants through her research techniques, reveal her lucky breaks and divulge her secrets for creating a suspenseful page-turning mystery.
