The sound of Jessie Gordon and Yara Neto performing together for the first time since they were in Stratosfunk, will create a night to remember.

The pair will join Milford Street Shakers lead singer Mia Matthiessen as part of a very different Sixties era rendition of Beatles hits, beloved Soul and Motown classics.

Band leader Dom D’Leno says the band will doing a handful of Beatles tunes to mark the 20th anniversary of George Harrison’s death on November 29.

He says the sound of Gordon and Neto performing Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s Ain’t No Mountain High Enough accompanied by the 11-piece Soul band, will be a sound to remember for years to come.

The band will be delivering its take on an era when big bands ruled the dance halls and gospel, rhythm and blues and jazz music converged to inspire some of the most soulful tunes of all time.
Gordon and Neto were part of Stratosfunk which took Perth by storm from 2008 and has since evolved into The Milford Street Shakers, formed in 2016.

D’Leno says Milford Street Shakers music is not something that plays in the background, it’s music that forces an audience to its feet to dance.

It’s high energy and a joyful sound.
