Valley Vibe Creative Arts Festival

The inaugural Valley Vibe Creative Arts Festival will be held on the 21st and 22nd of May 2021, in the heart of the beautiful Lockyer Valley. It is your opportunity to fill your cup for winter. With delightful meal events, film, poetry, performing arts, visual arts, competitions, stalls and workshops, no doubt, your creative cup will be overflowing!

In 2019, the Lockyer Creative Collective set out to gather the Valley’s Creatives to form a unified voice for the Arts and share expertise, business support, and fun times. One of the outcomes of this journey is the Valley Vibe Creative Arts Festival, designed as a bit of a corroboree for artists and community, to spark the creativity in all of us. With an ethos that values collaboration, the Collective are working with local businesses, Council, community groups and education institutions to bring Lake Apex to life.

The event kicks off with a beautiful Autumn evening under the stars, at an undisclosed location, with the ticketed Hidden Vibe Masquerade Dinner. The journey will begin at allocated bus pick up stops throughout the Valley, and a communal bus ride to the secret venue. On arrival at the exquisite location, guests will be treated with champagne and canapes before sitting down to a main course and dessert, while drink waiters attend their needs and a four-piece band serenades them. At the conclusion of the evening, buses will transport guests back to the point of pick up.

The following morning, the Festival gets underway with a ticketed Poet’s Breakfast. Hosted by the Queensland Poet’s Festival, guests and performers will be treated to a delightful breakfast using the pick of the produce from the local area, and Damper and Tea from the local Scout Troop. Locals are invited to start rehearsing those original poems stored in the bottom of drawers, and enter the competition.

Autumn always gifts us with the most resplendent weather. Make the most of the last of it by spending the day perusing the arts’ stalls or get hands-on with the workshops on offer. Sample the local fare and gather with your friends to enjoy al fresco dining, interactive dance and performance, and music. The event will culminate with the Vibe Cinema, run in conjunction wit USQ, showcasing the winning entries of the Vibe Short Film Competition. Enjoy the Vibe!
