Are you currently pregnant with your first child and looking to enter labour feeling calm, relaxed and empowered?

Have you had a baby before but looking for a birth experience where you feel more in control, relaxed and excited?

Our Active Birth Workshops are run by our Prenatal yoga teacher and breastfeeding counsellor Kaitlyn Sandona. Kaitlyn is proud mama to a 4-year-old boy of her own, and will guide you and your birth partner through a practical workshop filled with practice, discussions and active participation preparing you for birth - exploring how the labouring woman/person might want to move, position and breathe, and how the birth partner can play an active role encouraging different techniques, employing massage and acupressure and more. You'll be shown practical ‘tools’ for working with pain in labour including touch, movement and massage preparing you for birth

In this small group educational class we'll explore how as a team can work together to use mind-body techniques throughout the labour process. This 4.5-hour interactive workshop will include:

- Understand the stages of labour, important hormones and how to optimise them for a wonderful birthing experience

- Information on interventions, birth plans and maps and help in making informed decisions through the birthing process

- Helping to empower and get you excited about giving birth by reframing fear, setting intentions and using positive affirmations

- Helping to empower the support person and help them frame their role on the big day Meditation for birthing

- Postures and breathing for labour and birth

- Massage and rebozo techniques for labour

- Information on the golden hour (the hour after birth), information about initiating breastfeeding (Kaitlyn is a certified Breastfeeding Counsellor)
