A fun & hands-on outdoor gardening workshop, where you’ll learn how best to plant bulbs using lasagne planting (layered planting in pots) creating a succession of colour, lasting for months.

Under the guidance of respected rose expert Mr Bob Melville & garden designer/ horticulturalist/television presenter Colin Barlow, the topics will include bulb planting in pots, hanging baskets, sweet peas from seed, vegetable planting, the best fertilisers to use and a Q & A on jobs to do in the garden this Autumn.

The Rose Society of WA(R.S.W.A) has sourced a fantastic range of high quality bulbs from leading growers which include tulips, daffodils and jonquils, Ranunculus, Anemones, Freesias, Iris, Violas and pansies, plus many newer and harder to find varieties.

This practical gardening workshop will be held on Sunday the 1st of May, in the surrounds of a beautiful garden at 26 Mottram Road in Carmel, at the bottom of the Perth Hills. The workshop runs from 10am until 2pm with lunch and drinks included. The cost of the workshop is $50 for R.S.W.A members and $60 for members of the public and remember to bring along your own large 30L-40L pot for planting up with bulbs. Plastic pots will also be available to purchase on the day, please advise at the time of booking. You’ll leave the workshop with a pot full of blooms you’ve created- all ready to bloom in Spring!

Bookings are essential as places are strictly limited and prior payment is required. To reserve your place at this flower filled event please contact our Events Co-ordinator Robyn Cooper by email on cable@iinet.net.au or alternatively call 0435 914 446.
