Camerata In Concert

Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra combines classical virtuosity with adventurous programming, transforming classical performance into a unique storytelling experience. Join us in the wondrous acoustics of the old church, surrounded by beautiful string instruments and a magnificent backdrop of the twinkling Brisbane skyline, as we welcome the ensemble for our second concert for 2022!

This intimate performance will feature a program of classical and contemporary music from internationally acclaimed composers and Brisbane’s very own creative talents, specially curated by Camerata's Artistic Director, Leader, and Violinist, Brendan Joyce. Works include Prayer by Ernest Bloch, Beethoven's String Quartet Op.130 “Alla danza tedesca”, selections from Dvořák's String Quintet, Op.77, as well as sparkling new works from talented local composers Nicole Murphy, John Rotar and Michael Patterson.

The Simply for Strings 2022 Concert Series is proudly supported by The Creative Sparks Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council to support local arts and culture in Brisbane.
