After performing 24 sold-out shows in 2021, ESTHER HANNAFORD - one of Australia’s finest leading ladies and award-winning star of ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' - will be joined by an all-star band to celebrate 50 years of Carole King’s landmark album, “Tapestry”, when the tour extends to WA, Tasmania and regional Victoria.
Released on February 10, 1971, “Tapestry" immediately hit #1 on the Billboard chart and remained there for 15 consecutive weeks, and is home to timeless classics such as ‘I Feel the Earth Move’, ‘So Far Away’, ‘You’ve Got a Friend’, ‘It’s Too Late’, ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’, ‘(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman’.
The 50th-anniversary tour will present “Tapestry" complete from start to finish as well as a selection of Carole King hits and songs she wrote for fellow multiplatinum-selling artists.
Esther will be joined by a band comprised of some of Australia’s finest contemporary musicians that include musical director and Jet bassist Mark Wilson; keyboardists Clio Renner and Louis Macklin; and drummer Pete Marin.
Opening all shows will be special guest Davey Lane (You Am I) with songs from Laurel Canyon, a once famous enclave of musicians in the Hollywood Hills during the 1960s and early 1970s, often renowned as the birthplace of much of the America’s popular music including "Tapestry".
