Big Mama & The Hanged Men host Canberra Blues Society Christmas Party Blues Jam.
International Blues powerhouse Fran “Big Mama” Liddle is said to have the voice of an angel, who found the keys to the liquor cabinet. There are people who can sing and people who have pipes and Big Mama has those pipes. Well known in the Australian and American blues scene for big, intense, emotional and often funny original material with a sharp wit that can cut and caress.
The Hanged Men are a world class trio consisting of George Rigatos on Guitar, Ed Rodrigues on Drums and Serg Coniglione on Bass brings high energy funky blues and hard edged blues rock. Having played Thredbo Blues Festival in 2022 and are now booked for Moruya Blues & Roots Festival March 2023, Big Mama & the Hanged Men are selling out shows wherever they go, Big Mama & the Hanged Men are a force of nature, and have been carving up the Australian music scene with heart stopping Blues, Soul and mighty Rock’n’Roll.
Joining Big Mama will be Canberran Blues Piano sensation Ali Penney! Ali, the winner of multiple Chain Awards for her original music and a much loved member of the Australian Blues scene is an absolute New Orleans Piano superstar and with the voice to match.
The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the Canberra region jamming together for a great afternoon of live Blues Music
