Over 7 nights, Chinese Film Week (CFW) will screen 7 amazing Chinese films that will give a fresh view into a diverse and interesting culture.

Organised by the Consulate General of China in Melbourne, PR Asia and supported by CMC Pictures, CFW will be screened at Hoyts Melbourne Central from Friday 23 September to Thursday 29 September.

The program will open with award-winning My Country, My Parents. This moving work is the third part of a trilogy that studies daily life in China across generations and how family relationships affect the intensity and lessons found in shared memories.

The film topics encompass cultural insights such as how family memories are passed on from generation to generation, a view of what it was like to be a doctor in Wuhan when COVID-19 broke out, a coming-of-age comedy, a story about a relentless search for truth, a hugely popular period drama where young people fight for a brighter future, epic battles and a remote village’s efforts to strive for a better life.

All films feature English subtitles.
