DAMIEN + Super Massive - Electro-rock double, dance lovers

It's a ripper double bill at Vinnie's this Thursday 24 Feb for anyone who likes electronic music served up with a rock edge, wit and a killer dance groove.

Australian alt-electro-rock musician DAMIEN is celebrating the release of his critically acclaimed new track ‘2 Out Of 10’, with ultra-funky Gold Coast locals Super Massive in support.

DAMIEN pairs his industrial style with lyrical content that is simultaneously clever and catchy, with a sound reminiscent of artists such as Dandy Warhols, Regurgitator, BloodHound Gang and Spiderbait.

When asked what inspired his catchy new single ‘2 Out Of 10’, DAMIEN says:
“The track was inspired by online dating, and the seemingly shallow nature of swiping left or right on someone based on appearance only. It is also making a mockery of the way in which we ‘score’ people, including ourselves, based on our appearance. I hope that people will take themselves less seriously, especially when it comes to dating, and move away from becoming conceited in one’s appearance in the hope of attracting a particular idea of the perfect mate.”

Super Massive is the musical baby of former Machine Gun Fellatio drummer/composer Glenn Abbott (aka Bryan Ferrysexual) and his musical partner Malina Hamilton-Smith, together with his Disco Disciples bandmate, Tyr Kovacic, aka the Disco Jesus, on guitar. Imagine Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Chic and Depeche Mode blended with Led Zeppelin, and Freddie Mercury and Chrissie Amphlett's secret love child out front. It's too much fun to miss!
