DIRT
Written by Angus Cameron

A Russian and an Australian walk into a bar. Neither are who they say they are.

The Victorian premiere of this smash-hit queer thriller, presented by and starring Wil King (ABC/Netflix's Why Are You Like This, Strangers in Between) and their real-life partner, award-winner Patrick Livesey (The Boy, George, Naomi), DIRT traverses the compelling course of one night where two people meet, drink, and party in modern-day Moscow. Both need something from the other, both have something to hide.

Written by Angus Cameron and directed by Bronwen Coleman (The Actors Studio, NYC), DIRT is an electrifying and seductive exploration of sexuality, solidarity and persecution. It won four awards at the 2021 Adelaide Fringe Festival, two at the 2022 Fringe World, was nominated for Best Independent Production by The Adelaide Critics Circle Awards and has earned over a dozen five-star reviews.

A casualty of the 2021 Victorian Covid Lockdown this gripping return season, running at Chapel Off Chapel for two weeks only, is a definite must see on the 2022 Arts Calendar.

One dollar from every ticket sold will also be donated to the Moscow Community Center for LGBT+ Initiatives and Insight Ukraine.

“… a gripping drama…” - The Advertiser
“… an edge of the seat experience…” - The Barefoot Review
“… an immaculate construction that had the audience enthralled the whole play.” - AU Review

This season is proudly supported by the City of Stonnington, Regional Arts Victoria through their Sustaining Creative Workers Initiative and amplified by Melbourne Fringe through their Cash for Creatives program.
