Fleurieu Folk Festival is back, bringing a weekend of grooves and good times to Willunga!
South Australia’s largest and friendliest annual folk festival is returning to Willunga Recreation Park, bringing a hoard of headliners to the peninsula. Promoting young South Australian musicians has always been a significant priority for the Fleurieu Folk Festival and will be filled with world-class acts, showcasing some amazing local South Australian talent.
A special venue (Café AcousticA) will also be provided for people who want to come along and play their own music as well as a Busk Stop for buskers.
Over 50 of the best local, national, and international folk musicians will be performing during the three-day event in picturesque Willunga – just 45 minutes south of Adelaide. Genres to be covered include a range of contemporary folk, Celtic, blues, Americana, roots, and much more. The festival also boasts workshops on dance, musical theatre, kids’ entertainment, and even poetry, along with local food and drink stalls – meaning there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.
In addition, we’re very excited to have national talent returning to their roots with Ella and Sienna coming back after their stint on the Voice Australia. To boost their profile and help them reach the next level of their career, Ella and Sienna will be nominated as the outstanding folk musicians to represent South Australia in Folk Alliance Australia’s youth showcase concerts at the National Folk Festival in Canberra.
After a number of years of Covid-19-related impacts, event organisers are excited to again grow the event in 2022 and attract strong support from attendees to support participating artists and musicians.
The festival is generously supported by the City of Onkaparinga, Bendigo Bank and Aussie Cider.
