Come along and enjoy the guitar mastery of Freddie Grigson and Kristian Borring. These two giants of the guitar will take you on a musical excursion into their favourite jazz standards and other assorted genres. The driving force of this quartet comes from the thoughtful and unassuming bass lines of Soonyong Lee, and the impressive virtuosity and power of drummer Danny Susnjar. Don’t miss it!

BIO
Freddie Grigson has been at the forefront of Australia’s ever-evolving jazz scene for the past 35 years. His artistic virtuosity and authentic interpretation of the Jazz language has earned him a reputation as one of the country’s most in-demand guitarists.

He has worked alongside legendary artists such as Sammy Davis, Jr and Shirley Bassey. He is also a headliner in his own right and has shared the stage with jazz giants, including Joe Pass and John Scofield.

Kristian Borring, originally from Denmark, established himself as a “rising star” (Time Out London) when moving to the British capital from Amsterdam – leader and sideman alike. He has been described as not only favouring "fleet-fingered, hip-swinging, soul-bop but draws as well from the subtle, gentle lyricism of guitarists such as John Abercrombie and Pat Metheny” (Jazzwise). He has appeared and/or recorded with cutting edge jazz players including Tommaso Starace, Will Vinson, Jim Hart and Fabian Almazan. Kristian latest album 'Out of Nowhere' was released in 2021, immediately becoming album of the week on both ABC jazz Australia and was reviewed as being “creative contemporary jazz at its very best” by Jazz Views, while jazz reviewer Ian Mann described it as: “A typically classy, intelligent & sophisticated offering from Borring” (the Jazz Mann).
