This March, The Ethics Centre will return with its popular IQ² series at an event held at Sydney’s Town Hall that critically examines and debates political power. Two carefully chosen teams will present ‘for’ and ‘against’ positions in response to the provocation that ‘Politicians only care about winning’.

Speakers include Bill Shorten, Member for Maribyrnong and Former Leader of the Opposition; Jo Dyer, former Director of Adelaide Writers' Week and Independent candidate for Boothby; Jake Thrupp, publisher and commentator; with more to be announced.

In addition to hearing from the speakers, the audience is given the chance to participate, interact with the panel and share their own views on the subject both before and after the debate.

This IQ² event is perfectly timed with campaigning for this year’s federal election now hitting full stride; when Australians’ focus on politicians looking for votes, what they offer and who will benefit. IQ² probes further, asking if Australians should be more concerned with how politicians will wield the power that comes with the job and what purpose that power serves.

The debate will also be live-streamed. Book tickets on The Ethics Centre website.
