A journey deep into the heart of hope. From German Baroque genius Heinrich Schütz, in his 350th anniversary year, comes an extraordinary vision of light in the most harrowing of circumstances: funeral music in the midst of war that stubbornly refuses to submit to despair. Surrounding this rich and profound work like the petals of a flower is the radiant beauty of music by JS Bach, John Rutter, the neglected 17th-century master Franz Tunder, and Australian composer Brooke Shelley, including a new work commissioned by the choir.

Franz Tunder Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott

Brooke Shelley Praise the Lord

Brooke Shelley Heavenly Father (World premiere)

Heinrich Schütz Musikalische Exequien (Requiem)

John Rutter Hymn to the Creator of Light

Js Bach Lobet den Herrn
