Karrinyup and the Chung Wah Association are gearing up for two festive weeks as they usher in the Lunar New Year with a range of exciting activities across the centre.

Large-scale Year of the Tiger projections and traditional lanterns will illuminate the West Deck each night from 31 January – 15 February.

On Sunday 6 February the East Court will welcome a performance by two lions on high poles surrounded by a dance troop and drums, complete with an exciting gold confetti finale, and on Thursday 10 February, three Chinese lions will make their way through the centre.

The lions will commence their journey in the West Deck, handing out mandarins and charms spreading good luck and prosperity. The lions will also bless Karrinyup retailers, before making their way back to the West Deck where they’ll sashay through the laneways, concluding the Dragon show with a special performance on the Kids Lawn.

Whether you go by the Lunisolar or the Gregorian calendar, Karrinyup’s fun-filled fortnight of festivities will be for everyone to celebrate and enjoy.
