Anyone hanging around the thrift boutiques and bars of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley over the past couple of years will be familiar with McDermott & North as they cut their teeth and songwriting chops as one of the city's most beloved busking duos. The pair possess a sophistication in their musical performance and songwriting style that has a tangible sense of the ‘60’s, while bringing a modern twist to their style. Meeting at Brisbane’s Embassy Bar in 2016, the Indie/Folk duo are made up of Paddy McDermott and Rhys North, both of whom were performing as solo artists in their own right upon their introduction at the venue's 'Open Mic' night, quickly finding a harmonious blend of their vocal styles and songwriting approach.
