Wonderful Folk Fusion of Trì in Market Sunday Concert

The Music on a Market Sunday concert at 12:30pm on 29 May in the Armidale Uniting Church features the wonderful folk fusion of Trì.

Trì is a unique melding of the empathetic and energetic fiddling of Kez Watson, the bold and beautiful flute/whistle/uilleann pipe lines of David Carr, the unfettered fretted magic of Stephen Tafra’s grooves and solos on guitars, cemented by the organic and intuitive drumming/percussion of Steve Harris. This quartet of lead instrumentalists emerged out of frequent past collaborations – both in their compositional and recorded work and in less formal sessions and gigs. Their music has a backbone of Irish and Scottish traditions and world music making – focused on intricate, groove-entwined melodies whilst embracing Classical Art music roots, Balkan and Breton dance tunes, Norwegian nuances, Asturian jigs and the influence of avant garde jazz and folk improvisations.

Admission to the concert is free, though donations are encouraged. While there are no Covid restrictions do think about covid safe practices and distancing. Tea and sausages will be available at the Uniting Church before the concert.
