Australia's largest running event is back in a big way! Returning as a one-day event on Sunday 2 October 2022 the Festival welcomes all ages and abilities. Distances include the Nike Marathon, Nike Wheelchair Marathon, Nike Half Marathon, SriLankan Airlines 10km Run, 180 Nutrition 5km Run and 3km Walk. The starting location is Batman Avenue, approximately 150m North of Rod Laver Arena. As always, the course features some of the city’s most loved landmarks and finishes at the iconic MCG. The Runners Expo also returns with an exciting array of fitness specific stores, you’ll have plenty of things to see and do during race week. Whether you’ve running your first 5km or looking to smash a marathon personal best, there’s a distance for everyone!

The 2021 Melbourne Marathon helped raise over $1,200,000 for various charities, and this year participants are again encouraged to raise money for the official charity partner, Cerebral Palsy Education Centre, and associate charities JMB Foundation, Australian Red Cross, the Heart Foundation, and Very Special Kids, as well as other causes close to entrant’s hearts.
