Starting from Federation Square, we'll cycle along Southbank then the trail beside the 109 tram to Port Melbourne. From there we follow the Bay Trail via St Kilda and Elwood to Brighton, where we'll stop for lunch overlooking the beach at Brighton Beach Hotel. This is an easy 16 km ride entirely on cycle paths and quite flat. After lunch you can return via train from the Brighton Beach Station, or continue for a further 19 km at a slightly faster pace via the Bay Trail to Mordialloc. From Mordialloc Railway Station trains depart every 10 minutes.

Some leisure cycling experience is advisable. Bookings are required and there's a cap on lunch numbers, so book early to ensure you don't miss out!

The Nomads is a queer-friendly outdoor and social group that organises outdoor activities in Victoria most weekends. We also cycle almost every Friday around metropolitan Melbourne, and occasionally in regional Victoria. Email info@nomads.org.au for further information about The Nomads or to join the cycling mailing list.
