Perth Folk and Roots Club is back for July at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 24th July 2022 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has a duet of Callie Ashbolt & Sian Johanna and Pas Serafino.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes newcomer Callie Ashbolt supported by Sian Johanna and long time supporter Pas Serafino to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Callie Ashbolt is a star in the making at the young age of 15, with her exceptional voice and multi-instrumental talent. Callie began her career at the age of 10 with the help of her mentor and musical partner, hills local singer/songwriter, Sian Johanna. Callie debuted with the release of her music video, Kings Men at the age of 11, and by the age of 13 she had performed at the Sydney Opera House. She has even earned herself an endorsement from Cole Clark guitars. Her musical future looks very bright. Together, Callie and Sian have written songs of life, love and heartache, woven together with haunting, intricate harmonies, gentle guitar work and a friendship that reflects their mutual love of folk music.

Pas Serafino has played for Perth Folk and Roots Club in a number of incarnations including as a member of The Juke Joint band with their energetic mix of blues, jugband, ragtime, skiffle and rockabilly music; Bootleg Al a trio with a love of blues and country rock and Beats Working, a duet with John Howard with his songs in the Folk/Rock/Country genre. Pas has played guitar in bands ranging from cabaret to rock with a wide range of musical influences. As a solo artist, Pas will bring his eclectic mix and distinct energy to Perth Folk and Roots Club.

‘As always we are also looking for up-and-coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.
