Perth Folk and Roots Club is ready for June at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 26th June 2022 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Catherine Wheels and Pas Serafino.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes Catherine Wheels trio and long-time supporter Pas Serafino to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

The Catherine Wheels are an acoustic trio, consisting of two well-known Perth female vocalists, Cathy Mueller and Catherine Cary and Robert Thorpe on guitar and banjo bringing rhythm, melody and feel for each of their songs. They have been writing their own original alternative country/folk songs for the past three years and have developed their own unique style with rich harmonies and lyrics that are strong, simple and relatable. They describe their music as alternative country with melodies and chorus lines that are catchy and will have you singing along, even if you have never heard their music before. They have been playing at a number of venues including the Market Bar in Fremantle and Lyrics Lane in Maylands as well as some radio play on RTRFM of their upbeat and sometimes thought-provoking songs.

Pas Serafino has played for Perth Folk and Roots Club in a number of incarnations including as a member of The Juke Joint band with their energetic mix of blues, jugband, ragtime, skiffle and rockabilly music; Bootleg Al a trio with a love of blues and country-rock and Beats Working, a duet with John Howard with his songs in the Folk/Rock/Country genre. Pas has played guitar in bands ranging from cabaret to rock with a wide range of musical influences. As a solo artist, Pas will bring his eclectic mix and distinct energy to Perth Folk and Roots Club.

‘As always we are also looking for up-and-coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.
