Perth Folk and Roots Club is back again at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 27th March 2022 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, Perth Folk and Roots Club has Salisbury Home and Blues ConFusion.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes back Salisbury Home and newcomers to the Club, Blues ConFusion ‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

The sweet sad sound of forgotten dreams is wound through Lachlan Gurrs intricate fingerpicking on guitar and banjo to weave the songs written for Salisbury Home. From a misspent youth in Perths punk and metal scene to a hell of a time with The Kill Devil Hills and in between dastardly deeds with the pirate band Rumskull, Lachlan Gurr is back at Perth Folk and Roots Club for a solo performance. The Kill Devil Hills were a prominent Perth band that won WAMi Awards for "Best Blues/Roots Act" and "Best Country Music Act". National youth radio station, Triple J, played their albums and the band also performed at The West Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Bridgetown Blues Festival and the Big Day Out as well as touring Europe. Salisbury Home plays songs of love and loneliness, rough nights and lost dogs, and hope found in the bottom of the garden. Salisbury Home present an indie-folk set, inspired by the Decemberists, Iron and Wine and The Tallest Man on Earth.

Blues ConFusion was formed in 2013. Phil Bourgault met Deb Gill at the Hills Blues Club and then Guy Slingerland joined on drums and Deb introduced bass player Peter Hackett. Blues ConFusion are a mix of Phil's original music and interpretations of blues, jazz and rock artists. They have recorded and released a self-titled CD of original music, which is available on most online music stores and on Spotify. Another album is in production, from which an EP called She’s not Listening anymore with Allan Lester on Sax has also been released on Spotify. Blues ConFusion has played the Blues in Bridgetown, the Ellington Jazz Club, The Perth Blues Club, the Duke of George, the Darlington Arts Festival, Mt Helena Whim Festival and the Toodyay Music Fest along with a number of other venues. Recent events include a NYE gig (2020/21) supporting Blue Manna with the legendary Dave Hole and bushfire fund raisers at the Glen Forrest sports club & the Parkerville tavern.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
