The performances are from 5pm to 8pm at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has JemClak and Izzy.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes back JemClak acoustic duet and Izzy to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Clarence Bailey and Jeremy Boyd make up JemClak and have being playing together for many years. They have served their time in many different musical bands and combos in Perth and beyond over the decades. Clarence is known by Perth Folk and Roots Club audiences for his support for John Talati. Clarence originally taught Jeremy guitar when he was 14 years old and Jeremy went on to record Alive and Kicking with a wonderful acoustic version of May You Never by John Martyn. Clarence has now found himself behind the drum kit backing Jeremy. JemClaks repertoire is wide and eclectic as their lengthy history together, playing everything from James Taylor and Chris Smithers to Bonnie Rait, Stevie Wonder and The Police. Music has been the punctuation for a very long sentence.

Izzy plays laid back acoustic roots music with a picking style reminiscent of Greenwhich Village folk music and is inspired by Mississippi John Hurt and Bob Dylan. Izzy is a female drummer come guitarist who has played with a number of roots based bands including Kim Bettenay and the Passing Strays and the Moonshine Stills. Izzy is known as a two hand Texas shuffle blues drummer. Izzy has played at Moondyne Joes and played at A DAY in the FORREST festival in Glenn Forrest. More recently Izzy has been doing solo and duo shows at events in Southern regional Western Australia including the Festival of the Voice in Denmark as well as shows in Kellerberrin and at the StringyBark Winery in Chittering. Izzy also played with Daniel T Searle who was another supporter of Perth Folk and Roots Club prior to his passing.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
