On Sunday 27th March at 4:00pm at OLGC Catholic Church Forestville, Australian concert pianist Clemens Leske will open Wyvern Music Forestville’s 2022 concert season with an all-Beethoven program. The recital, Phoenix Rising, will feature Beethoven’s dazzling Eroica Variations and the monumental Hammerklavier Sonata.
Clemens Leske has performed with the six Australian symphony orchestras and played at venues in Spain, the UK, Singapore, New Zealand, the US, Hungary and China. He has appeared regularly with the Australian String Quartet, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Offspring, the Moscow Virtuosi and at the Bang on a Can and Focus festivals of new music in New York City.
Clemens has released many discs of solo and chamber works, and has recorded extensively for ABC Classic FM and Fine Music 102.5FM. He has served on juries for national and international piano competitions including the ABC’s Young Performers’ Awards, the Lev Vlassenko, and the Shepparton National Piano Award, and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Formerly a Juilliard School graduate, he has recently been invited to mentor students from the piano faculty there.
