Rebecca Barnard features with John Montesante Quintet

On March 3, JMQ Jazz Ensemble is delighted to feature outstanding and versatile vocalist, REBECCA BARNARD with dynamic, widely lauded saxophonist, RICHARD PAVLIDIS, Upstairs at the welcoming Golden Gate Hotel, South Melbourne.

The name 'Barnard' is well-known in the Australian Music & Jazz scene, across three illustrious generations, so Rebecca grew up listening to jazz and other genres and exposed to the best. She began singing jazz in Melbourne venues from the age of 16.: "I’ve always sung jazz, that’s sort of like my first love, you know, it’s like breathing. It’s sort of effortless." While she is best known for her stunning versatility as a singer, with JMQ Jazz Ensemble she revisits her Jazz roots, with those great jazz standards that were a soundtrack to her youth.

Rebecca will feature with impressive, widely lauded tenor saxophonist, Richard Pavlidis with JMQ Ensemble lineup of Michael Harding (piano), Hugh Harvey (drums),Kim May (bass), John Montesante (trumpet & flugel). Doors 6:30pm. Jazz 7pm.
