SASSAFRAS QUARTET
Formed in mid 2015, Sassafras has now established a reputation as one of Perth’s premier gypsy jazz groups. Perhaps best known for their work with the quintet version of the group (“Sassafras” – featuring vocalist Jessie Gordon), the four instrumentalists have also been steadily developing their sound as a tight-knit and energetic instrumental group: Sassafras Quartet. In their own right, Sassafras Quartet has performed at numerous venues around Perth (such as Kidogo Arthouse, The Ellington Jazz Club, The Duke of George, The Moon Cafe among others) and also at festivals including The Oz Manouche Festival (Brisbane, 2018), The King Street Corner Pocket Festival (2018) and The Perth Festival (2021). The band features Lachlan Gear and Aaron Deacon (acoustic guitars), Adrian Galante (clarinet) and Pete Jeavons (double bass).

EMILY GELINEAU
Classically trained on Piano and Violin from the age of 3, Emily Gelineau is a creative modern musician who is known for playing and interpreting many styles of music from jazz to pop, rock, world styles, and the classical western-art tradition. After living for 4 years in Boston, USA, Emily has been back in Australia for almost 2 years, and is a recent graduate from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA; earning herself a Bachelor of Music dual majoring in Film Scoring and Violin Performance whilst on a 5-year Asia Pacific Full-Tuition scholarship.
