Sedergreens, Whitehead and Harper

As a young undergraduate at VCA Axle began to display an affinity for vocal improvisation that broke the mould. Axle went onto lead his own band turning to the Sedergreen brothers Mal & Steve, as kindred spirits and fellow jazz ‘eclectics’ unafraid to present a kaleidoscope of contemporary, hip- hop, and soul styles. Axle then travelled to USA where he undertook various acting roles and TV appearances. He has recently returned home to enjoy a country lifestyle and recently appeared on TV in “The Masked Singer’ wowing the judges.

Mal Sedergreen remains one of the most exciting saxophonists who has toured with Blues great Jimmy Witherspoon and appeared at jazz festivals internationally in Malaysia the Montsalvat Jazz Festival with Nat Adderley.

Kahan Harper and Bob Sedergreen are integral members of the Black Jesus Experience. A band that has performed, toured and recorded profusely, locally and also internationally including New Zealand, UK, Africa, Ethiopia and Europe. Kahan also performs regularly in a trio. The night will be a long-awaited reunion of Axle, Mal & Bob and an initiation of surprises for Kahan. Expect the unexpected!!
