Sydney-based visual artist Rosie Deacon has undertaken an artist-in-residence at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick and will launch a major new exhibition titled Spaghetti-Stack-Snuffle-Shuffle at Bunjil Place Gallery, opening Saturday 5th November until Thursday 26th February.

Deacon says, “My work resembles large-scale, fictional geographies, inhabited solely by handmade sculptures, exploring states of humanity, feelings of belonging and realms of the absurd.”

As part of this project the artist has been working collaboratively with the local community to make components for this work. This includes over 100 “joey” sculptures created by students from Gwendoline Kindergarten in Berwick.
The new exhibition features an immersive, site-specific installation full of textures, colours and playful forms.
