Principal players of The Metropolitan Orchestra join as a Nonet for this fabulous Sunday afternoon of fine music within the beautifully refurbished Leichhardt Town Hall. Presenting an outstanding selection of music from Australian and international composers including a world premiere, this intimately passionate performance will warm a wintery afternoon.

The exciting program will include the beautiful Bukovina Odyssey by Australian composer Stephen Lalor and Carl Nielsen’s fabulous Little Suite For Strings. The ensemble will be joined by a special guest solo Clarinet for the commissioned world premiere from Sydney based composer and TMO resident artist, Keyna Wilkins. Titled “Smoke Trails: Our Place In A Changing World”, this brand new work is a response to the 2019-2020 bushfires. Louis Spohr’s unique Double String Quartet with a bass addition highlighting a wonderful interplay between two quartets will round out this outstanding musical afternoon.

Supported by the Inner West Council, this is the perfect opportunity to grab your family and friends, visit a local restaurant before (or after) the concert, and make the first Sunday of winter, a day to remember.
