The Swan River Ramblers (SRR) perform a wide variety of jazz classics, drawing repertoire from a number of styles including trad. jazz, swing, blues, New Orleans and gypsy jazz, to name a few. You can expect to hear music from greats such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, Sidney Bechet and George Gershwin as well an eclectic mix of contemporary tunes. Led by bassplayer Pete Jeavons, the SRR collective features a variety of talented Perth musicians, combining a wealth of performance experience, with instrumental virtuosity and a keen sense of spontaneity.
The Swan River Ramblers have been performing in an acoustic, roving format aboard the Paddlesteamer Decoy since 2016.
The West Australian built Paddle Steamer Decoy is an iconic entertainment venue steaming along the Swan River for over 30 years. Powered by a 114-year-old Ransome, Sims & Jefferies steam engine, the Decoy has a licensed bar and is the perfect place to relax on a Sunday afternoon, listening to great jazz whilst cruising the Swan River.
Sunday April 3rd (2022) features: Adam Hall (Trumpet/Vocals), Adrian Galante (Clarinet) Ray Walker (Banjo) and Pete Jeavons (Double Bass).
