The Big Design Market returns to Melbourne this December bigger and better than ever, ready to expand, elevate and usher in an exciting new chapter as we emerge from a creative rebirth. Boasting 270 Australian stallholders, a mouthwatering array of food and wine experiences and an incredible art installation, this event is a joyful spectacular of shopping, eating, drinking, creating and playing – all under one roof, and after its 3-year hiatus, it’s set to be the most memorable yet.

In the lead-up to the festive season, The Big Design Market is the ultimate place to find exceptional gifts to delight every loved one with an incredible curation of ethically made ceramics, jewellery, homewares, clothing, limited-edition art prints, stationery and much more.

Visitors can relax and refuel with our mouthwatering array of gourmet food and baked goods as well as exceptional coffee, cocktails, craft beer and local wines, and we’ve got little ones covered with a special kids area.

We’re also thrilled to be holding a series of star-weaving workshops to launch the One Billion Stars World Star Weaving Day in December 2022.
Visitors are invited to join these free workshops where they will learn how to weave a beautiful 8-pointed star in a workshop led by Maryann Talia Pau, renowned Samoan-Australian artist and weaver, to help One Billion Stars achieve their goal to weave one billion stars by 2032.

Founded in Melbourne in 2012 in response to the rape and murder of local woman Jill Meagher, the ongoing mission of One Billion Stars is to nurture global conversations on how to end all forms of violence using the joy and healing power of weaving. Each woven star is a symbol of light, courage and solidarity.
