The Grainger Wind Symphony is excited to announce our second concert for 2022. It brings together both historical and new music around the theme of planets. It will feature a big favourite for players and audiences alike, “The Planets” by Gustav Holst which has seven movements, one for each planet in our solar system.

Other featured works in the program are:

“Planet B” by Catherine Likhuta Ukrainian born computer who lives in Brisbane. She has completed a PhD. in composition at the University of Queensland.

“Star Wars” by John Williams arr. Donald Hunsberger, and

“Kyiv, 2022” by Brian Balmages, which acknowledges the tragic events in Ukraine.
