Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival

The Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival, is an annual celebration of Ideas, Art+Music and Action. It is a place to ‘Sea Change’ in a multi-channel showcase of the latest innovations, science and state of the art technology for helping the oceans. Audiences are inspired and entertained with art, film, music, food, talks, market stalls, workshops, 'Trashion' Parade (repurposed fashion) and more to celebrate the love of the oceans.

Staged at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach, with a catch cry of “Science in your Swimmers”, the laid-back Australian festival style invites people to understand some serious stuff in a relaxed and accessible way with engaging science talks and events on stage and in venues.

Ocean Lovers Festival provides four days of entertainment, science talks, ocean workshops, interactive installations and activities. Audiences can literally dive into the famous Bondi Icebergs pool installation by the Sydney Institute of Marine Science which showcases a Crayweed forest restoration project and the Volvo Living Seawall ocean conservation project.

Live Music on our solar-powered Sunshine Stage will feature alt. rock band Pacific Avenue, ocean lover Billy Otto, ethereal newcomers Erthlings, disco queen Chase Zera, Bondi local Declan Kelly and ocean angel Jane Walker, from 1pm Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24 in the Festival Hub.

Our Ocean Lovers Market stalls is a curated showcase of innovative products and projects that don’t cost the earth and are designed to specifically help protect or enhance our ocean environment and wildlife.

Ocean Lover’s mission is to bring hope, attention and actions for the oceans to the widest possible audience. #iseachange
