The 2022 Whitsundays Arts Festival returns to Fairy Tree Park on the Airlie Beach foreshore on 24-25 September.

Enjoy the sights and sounds in the form of fine arts, live original music, arts workshops, multicultural performances, handmade art markets, and impressive installations.

5PM SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER
Join us for the Opening Ceremony, featuring a Welcome to Country and music by Harry Bowen, the official opening by Whitsunday Mayor Julie Hall, art installations by artists-in-residence and the local community, and performance by Namarca Corowa.

Then watch on in amazement at 6:30pm as the old man in the majestic fig tree on the foreshore comes alive through projection and recordings!

8AM – 4PM SUNDAY 25 SEPTEMBER
The Foreshore Festivities Day and Handmade Art Markets is the perfect family-friendly day out by the water, with a full program of vibrant arts events and interactive activities, performances, and workshops.

Highlights include:

• The Handmade Art Markets with 50+ stalls featuring artesian goods, tasty treats, and interactive workshops
• Join in the community Memory Mandala on the beach
• Get involved in an African drumming workshop with Baala Baajo
• Enjoy Aboriginal storytelling, Torres Strait Island dancers, and Fijian performers
• The Tchundal Malar Aboriginal Dance Troupe with fire demonstrations and didgeridoo
• Bring along your ukulele and join The Jazzuleles for a uke workshop
• Head to the Kids Arts Workshop marquee for artist-led workshops for the whole family
• Check out Write It! The Whitsundays News Marquee and Writing Competition
